How to maximise the use of your Hunter bird scarer

Birds are scared by unusual, sudden, unexpected or unfamiliar sounds.Recreating these reduces bird habituation, and therefore damage to crops. To maximise it's effectiveness;

1. Alter the number of shots regularly.

2. Alter the interval between shots regularly.

3. Alter the start and stop times using the clock or dawn delay switch.

4. Alter the volume of the 'bang' using the gas switch.

5. Employ the use of the 'random' program whereby different numbers of shots and intervals are mixed up. Therefore there is no pattern that the birds can follow.

6. Move the bird scarer regularly. Note that with the rotation of the bird scarer it will change direction after each 'bang'.

Regular alterations of these features will enhance it's use.. The sound your Hunter bird scarer makes, resembles the sound of a shot gun. Therefore live shooting will compliment the use of a bird scarer, and reinforce it's effectiveness. Shooting should always be carried out in a safe manner.

A mixture of live shooting and bird scarer use will increase the effectiveness of your bird scarer. Any birds shot can be left as carrion which will attract raptor type birds such as hawks and falcons. Raptors are regarded as predators by other birds, and they will avoid an area if a raptor is present. Remember that live shooting should always be carried out in a safe manner.
